First Things First
Brightkey Software is committed to protecting user Privacy. When using our Keyboard products, even with the “Full Access” setting enabled,
– Brightkey DOES NOT create logs of what you type or collect your personal data to run advertising or sell such data to third parties.
– Brightkey DOES NOT store login credentials, passwords, or other sensitive information that you use on other apps, websites, or services.
– For security, our Keyboard products are typically disabled when typing within secure fields like passwords, number keypad and PIN entry.
At Brightkey, we believe that a big part of providing a great experience is being transparent about the way we handle customer data within our websites, software and services (“Services”).
What & Why
We do collect and use data in the following way to provide and improve our Services:
Services. When you use our Services, we store, process and transmit anonymous data about your use of our Services. If you allow access to your contacts, we’ll store those contacts locally on your device so that you can access those names as you type. In the future, we may allow contact and dictionary synchronization across devices. We will NOT transfer your contacts to our servers or outside of your device without you explicitly enabling such services. Finally, we collect crash data and logs in an anonymous format so that we can improve the reliability of the service.
Usage. We collect (anonymous) information from and about the devices you use to access the Services. This includes things like IP addresses, usage statistics, the type of browser and device you use, the web page you visited before coming to our sites, and identifiers associated with your devices. This information helps us prioritize the devices, browsers, and geographic locations we support.
Cookies and other technologies. On our websites, we use technologies like cookies and pixel tags to provide, improve, protect and promote our Services. For example, cookies on our website help us with things like remembering your username for your next visit, understanding how you are interacting with our Services, and improving the experience based on that information. You can set your browser to not accept cookies, but this may limit your ability to use the Services.
Personal contact information. We want to hear from our customers, and we invite you to follow us on social media, sign up for email updates, and participate in focus groups, surveys, and forums so we can get to know you better. All of this is optional, and if you do choose to participate, you can opt out at any time if you change your mind.
We may share information as discussed below, but we won’t sell it to advertisers or other third-parties.
Legal Compliance. We may disclose your information to third parties if we determine that such disclosure is reasonably necessary to (a) comply with the law; (b) protect any person from death or serious bodily injury; (c) prevent fraud or abuse of Brightkey or our users; or (d) protect Brightkey’s property rights.
Retention. We’ll retain anonymous information about your use of our Services for only as long as needed or to comply with our legal obligations.
Around the world. Brightkey operates worldwide, and to provide you with the Services, we may store, process and transmit information in locations around the world – including those outside your country. Information may also be stored locally on the devices you use to access the Services.
